Dublin TradFest is one of Ireland’s largest and most important celebrations of traditional Irish music. 2025 marks the 20 year anniversary of the festival which is held annually in January and showcases both well established Irish and international traditional music artists as well as introducing the best new artists.

Though the festival's base is in Temple Bar, it has expanded over the years to include new locations throughout Dublin. Some of the iconic locations featured this year include, Dublin Castle, St. Patrick's Cathedral, Malahide Castle, Swords Castle, the GPO Museum and Collin's Barracks. There are 50 free curated Trad & Folk concerts taking place in 12 Temple Bar venues featuring both established and emerging Irish talent. There's something for everyone including Céilís in the Community, outdoor food and craft markets, film screenings, library events and more. The focus has always been on the sense of community and the power of the music.
The festival runs from Jan 22 to Jan 26. As soon as you step off the plane in Dublin Airport you will experience an Irish Welcome as you will be greeted by traditional musicians and dancers. The celebration continues as you wander through Dublin's Fair City and listen to trad and folk musicians as they perform on the streets.
Dublin TradFest is a cornerstone of Ireland's musical calendar, offering a dynamic mix of performances, educational events, and opportunities for collaboration. It plays a vital role in preserving and evolving Irish traditional music while also showcasing its impact and relevance on a global stage.
